(Ysbrydol Negro, geiriau gan John Stoddart, trefniant gan Martin Hodson MBE.

Mae’n ymddangos y cyfieithodd John Stoddart (1924-2001) llawer o ganeuon i’r Gymraeg. Mae gwybodaeth amdano ar-lein yn gyfyngedig ond yn ôl D’Oyly Carte roedd unawdydd tenor o’r enw hwnnw a wnaeth ei ymddangosiad cyntaf yn Llundain ym 1958. Ar wefannau eraill fe’i disgrifir fel cyfieithydd.

Geiriau

Ewch i’r trên
Mae lle i lawer mwy.

Dod mae trên yr Efengyl,
Bydd yma cyn bi hir,
Mi glywaf ei holwynion
Yn rhowlio drwy y tir.

Ewch i’r trên blantos bychain,
Ewch i’r trên blantos bychain,
Ewch i’r trên fy mhlantos bychain,
Mae lle i lawer mwy!

Fe’i clywaf yn dynesu,
Mae’n brysio ar ei hynt
‘Rôl gollwng brêc a chodi stêm
Mae’n rhuthro fel y gwynt.

Mae pris y daith yng ngyrraedd pawb
Y tlawd a’r cefnog rai
Nid oes ail ddosbarth ar y trên,
R’un pris, dim mwy na llai!

Ewch i’r trên, mae hi’n ymadael.

Cyfiaith i’r Saesneg

Go to the train
There is room for many more.

The train of the Angels is coming,
It will be here soon
I hear its wheels
Rolling across the land.

Go to the train kids,
Go to the train kids,
Go to the train my children,
There is room for many more!

I hear it approaching
It’s hurrying on its way
After dropping the brake and raising steam
It rushes like the wind.

The price of the journey is within reach of everyone
The poor and the affluent ones
There is no second class on the train
The same price, no more and no less!

Go to the train, it’s leaving.
